Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was our day three. Park opened at 9 AM.

After we were through the gates, For a change we started to head left towards Adventureland hoping that it will be less busy. Normally we head right to fantasyland and try to hit up the mine train first thing in the morning. Being a large group we want to try to optimize our wait time. We walked onto Pirates of the Caribbean. Then we made our way over to Thunder Mountain. This lined up perfectly because we had a fast pass for haunted mansion which is right next to Thunder Mountain at 10am.

It really was the perfect day. A light breeze not too hot and a few clouds in the sky. We shared our love for the cinnamon bun at Gaston’s Tavern with our friends.

We parted ways around noon and the Kerr team hit up Tomorrow Land Speedway twice! The kids enjoyed their frozen lemonade snacks while Jason and I sat in the shade.

Charlotte and I window shopped along Main Street a little bit. She needed a break from her siblings.

A late lunch at the Crystal Palace didn’t disappoint at usual ( I just love the artichoke pasta they serve). I also got Jenn hooked on the Pomegranate lemonade.

We decided to take a break and head back to the poly where we quickly realized that we didn’t have much time to turn around to go back to see the fireworks. Well I mean we could’ve seen the fireworks from anywhere but we wanted to get up close. We found the most perfect spot to the right of the castle close to the entrance of tomorrowland. The fireworks were spectacular. Happily ever after.

I had seen it a few times OK, maybe more than a few times on YouTube and from the beach at the Poly.

Every time it brings tears to my eyes. Totally recommend seeing the spectacular show.

We all had a bit of energy so we made our way back over to Adventureland where we rode splash Mountain. Holy moly. I don’t think we have ever laughed so hard. There was something wrong with the ride which made the lineup delayed by about an hour and a half. I assured them it would be worth it. And it was. I sat with Georgia and Charlotte at the very front of the boat.

I have never laughed so hard. Georgia had this chant while Charlotte sat there quietly yet excitedly. We were all a bit delirious as it was just after 10pm.

The 50 foot drop at the end of the ride is one to experience. Even better at night IMO.

The park was open that evening for extra magic hours. We ended up taking a trip on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride again. The Aylesworth family decided it was time to go back to their house. Jason carried sleeping Charlotte to the Monorail and they headed back to the Polynesian. Christopher, Sophia and myself thought we were not ready to go home. We decided to explore the kingdom. It was quite quiet actually. I totally recommend extra magic hour this late at night. The park was open from 10 until 12 PM for resort guests.

We walked onto the buzz light-year ride as well as the Astro orbiter. After which we spent time sitting and talking and laughing while looking at the castle in it’s colourful glory.

Creating memories as I like to say. What a great day.
