Sweet sweet Charlotte

Welcome to our family. Saturday March 2nd we decided on a family drive to the county. On the way we picked up a couple pizzas and sodas from Pizza Pizza and picnicked while we made our way to the Glenora ferry. I hadn't felt much movement that day. Decided on some ice cream and even with the heavy sugar overload no movement. After the ferry ride we headed back through Napanee to Qz7 just to get checked and be sure. Everything looked ok other then a chance fluid looked low around baby. The OB on call recommended I stay the night and be monitored every 4 hours and then have a full scan done in the morning and further checked by Dr Ademidun my regular OB. I was grateful to find out my nurse was a good friend Jenn McDonald that night ?that night I shared a room with a very nice soon to be new mom Lesley! I was given non stress tests at 12:30 am and again at 5 am. Both perfect! In the morning I went downstairs to have a ultrasound to check fluids. Everything checked our fine. My doctor was still concerned about the lack of movements and gave me the option to be induced. We determined that I was exactly 38 weeks. I agreed I would rather not be worried and uncomfortable so I agreed to the induction. Because unwashed GBS positive and allergic to the antibiotics I had a mini consultation with Dr Dempsey a pediatrician. He mentioned a couple of quick tests they would do once baby arrived.
the induction started via pitocin Contractions started pretty quickly. Jason came by with Sophia and Christopher. I was moved to room 710 (delivery) Jaison and the kids followed. After an hour and a lot of painful contractions we made arrangements for the kids to go home to bed. I felt like my contractions were still quite manageable. I had Jason rock and move and dance around the delivery room. He did a great job keeping me
comfortable. My nurse Stephanie was awesome and didn't seem to mind me asking to take the monitors on and offs while Jason and u swayed around the room.  After receiving the epidural from Dr Brown I began to relax.  Around 2am I felt the urge to push but wasn't quite dilated.  I kept saying I felt like the baby was slipping out.  Such a weird feeling.  I had the nurse check me and around 3:10 am with some painful painful pushes you came screaming into this world.  We were pleasantly suprised!!! Goodbye Carley

Well its been three weeks since she crossed over the rainbow bridge. She was our first baby. She was our wedding/start to life gift to each other. Everyone loved her. She was so smart. We were in Obedience, Flyball and Agility in her younger years. She helped keep our foster dogs in line the short time they lived with us. Her and I we were an awesome team. We took her everywhere. THe longest we were apart was when we went to a friends wedding in the DR in 2007 That was a week away. She was 10.5 on Jan 4th 2013. Cancer took her from us. Very fast. So fast she left us before we actually knew what was wrong. But it was STage 4 cancer in her liver. She would have been pallative. We would have had to make the decision no pet owner wants to make and put her down. Thanfully and unselfishly she decided on her own. Sunday the 6th of January three weeks ago she was not herself, sick and lathargic. We had been waiting for other tests to come back. But something just wasn't right that day. We loaded her up with the kids. We dropped our Sophia and Christopher off at our best friends the Fykes where our Sophia touched her and said "I love you Carley" We drove to our emergency care vet in silence. When we arrived we opened the hatch and she was gone. The last thing she would have heard was Sophia's sweet little voice. Our hearts were broken. I've lost people in my life but this is so different.
Wednesday we picked up her ashes. I had a birthday last week. Jason bought me a necklace that will eventually contain some of her ashes. That way she will always be close to my heart.
Every day that passes it does get a tiny bit easier We know she never suffered a day in her life. SHe really did live the "golden" life. RIP my sweet girl. I read this great message recently - "if my dog isn't in heaven, then someday I want to go where they are" It can't be more true.

Christmas time!

Yahoo. With Sophia aged 31/2 and little Kwiss at 21 months this by far will be the best Christmas yet. The house is dripping with sparking Christmas balls. My 9 foot beauty of a tree hovers over the living room. Shining with bright white rice lights. I could just stare at it all night. I guess I should enjoy my tree because sooner or later my kids will want to decorate it themselves. I even made stockings for everyone this year. Well 5. I still need to assemble mine.
Pregnancy update : feeling sore but manageable. I guess that's what you get when you have 3 kids back to back to back. Every day I get asked what were having. Of course we didn't find out. We already have one of each so really, we are ready for anything.
Last weekend was the Stirling Santa Claus parade. Awesome time with awesome friends. This year the Kerrs managed to hit up the Belleville, Frankford, Trenton, and last but not least Stirling. What a great way to spend time with my family.
Now all we need is some snow :$

Norwood Fair

This past Sunday aka Thanksgiving weekend we decided to drive up to the Norwood Fair. It was cool outside so we call bundled up in comfy pants and sweaters. We lasted about $20. and 39 minutes later we left. The main reason for going was to see the animals up close. We thought. Thought! Sophia would enjoy that the most. Wrong, a large vocal goose scared the crap out of her to the point of sobbing tears. After that wouldn't leave the comfort of my arms. She kept mumbling "I want to go home" melted my heart so we grabbed some fries (gross) and left. I was only able to capture one photo.

October 1st

My plan is to write a mini note everyday in October. It's my favourite month. Cool weather, leaves changing. Like a fresh start. Today I worked in the morning in Stirling and then had a two hour nap in the afternoon. For some reason I was exhausted. Maybe because I'm growing a human?? After my well deserved nap we packed up the kids and headed to my dads for some ATV riding. What a spectacular day to be outside cruising the trails. Instead of heading home after we took a jaunt to Madoc for pizza and salads. For a special treat, ice cream sandwiches for everyone before bath and bed.

Jason is off pretending to be an electrician today :). The extra cash is always nice so off to work to help out my Dad for the day. I cleared my schedule and an doing the sahm gig all day. Such a gorgeous day with the leaves starting to change. We decided after breakfast and a bit if TV to go for a walk. I even had to dig out the hats. Burrrrrrr. Not complaining as this is my all time fave weather.
